I want to make the shortcut keys I’ve assigned to various styles available to all my colleagues. However whenever you “save as” and the file name changes you lose the shortcuts. Also want a few QuickParts to be available to all. Do I need to save both these to Normal so they stick and are available to all or is there another way?

Saving them in the Normal template will make them available for you, not anyone else. The Normal template should not be shared! You can save building blocks and shortcut keys for built-in styles in a Global Template which you could distribute. The same is true of QAT modifications. For instance, I have a template that has keyboard shortcuts for heading styles that can be used.

If they are custom styles, you would be better off distributing custom document templates, perhaps in a Workgroup Templates folder, that contain your styles. Was this reply helpful?
